Alpenrose Dairy Christmas 2021. Always part of Portland. A Northwest natural since 1916. This beloved Portland tradition is free and fun for the whole family.
November 30 2018. This post is loaded with subconscious thoughts about a vague and sinister corporate takeover that I dont. The auction would be selling off the antiques signs Christmas decorations theater seats musical instruments milk wagons stage coaches and other memorabilia from Dairyville the frontier village on the property of the Alpenrose Dairy thats slated to be razed for a housing development.
Its opening day for Christmas in Dairyville. Thanks to Alpenrose Dairy this special place continues even as Portland has grown and developed around it. Those groups are expected to continue to enjoy the facilities as they have in the past.
It is a bit scary looking like it teleported into place from the 50s but I must admit the ice cream is good. When I visited last year the Dairyville miniature village was being renovated with plans to open for the Christmas holidays and the annual Easter Egg hunt. The owners of the property have been meeting with community groups that have activities on the property.
